Welcome to SecManiac.com, home of Dave Kennedy (ReL1K), some security guy. I’m a Chief Security Officer (CSO) of a Fortune 1000 company and the creator of a few different popular open source tools. This site is dedicated to some of my blog, projects, presentations, and other information. This site is really just a collection of random thoughts that do not represent those of my employer and a place for me to continue research and have fun. My passion has always been hacking and I’ve had the fortune of growing up through the penetration testing side of security and truly enjoy it as a hobby.
This is the home for the Social-Engineer Toolkit (SET), an open source social-engineering penetration testing framework as well as Artillery, an open source defensive tool aimed at preventing attacks. The Social-Engineer Toolkit (SET) was designed in order to arm penetration testers and security researchers with the ability to effectively test heavily advanced social-engineering attacks armed with logical methods. SET leverages multiple attack vectors that take advantage of the human element of security in an effort to target attackers.
Artillery is a tool designed to confuse attackers and block them before an actual attack occurs. Artillery is a newer project and does a combination of host monitoring, security hardening, and honeypot type defensive strategies. Artillery has an active component where if it detects a connection on a given port that is triggered as a honeypot, it will automatically block the offending IP address.
